I’m in a different position to when I began NPLH and the conversations had over the past year with people who have paved their own way have led me here. In walking me down their paths, they showed me I was on the wrong one.

I recently quit my job with no ‘next step’ lined up. Scary for a person conditioned to the comfort of a monthly pay check. Some would say I should know better. But ‘knowing better’ is why I took the risk in the first place. I found a job in a local cafe to fulfil a sense of responsibility by earning some money and afford me the time to evaluate where NPLH is and how I can grow it.

Then, I learned I would be a dad for the first time. At 40! Bradford’s shock 4-2 FA Cup win at Chelsea came to mind. It shouldn’t happen, but sometimes it does.

Until now, I’ve never done anything related to NPLH with the intention of earning money, but the goalposts have moved.
NPLH is part of my path and I know from the growing community the podcast offers value.

Beyond the weekly episodes of ‘In conversation with’, I intend to expand into short/long form video format. Get out into the wild and connect with people across the landscape on a deeper, more meaningful level. Share their stories in more detail and in more interesting ways.

Obviously, this comes at a cost, and the cynical Brit in me asks, “Why would people pay for that?”
